Pokemon Data is Lost - Mysterious Dungeon Spin-off Recalled
Nintendo Japan has issued a recall notice for two of its latest DS games, the Chunsoft co-developed Mysterious Dungeon spin-offs, Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon Blue/Red Rescue Team.
We picked up on unconfirmed reports last week that data was being corrupted or lost at various points in the games, with the all-important data-transfer elements being the most dangerous times to lose game progress and Pokédex.
Nintendo has confirmed the fault today, announcing a recall of the games and offering a free exchange of the first-generation of cartridges for revised versions it is currently manufacturing.
The problem stems when the cartridges are exchanged between Nintendo DS units. From what we can gather, the power being left on (as per the game’s instructions) flashed the game cartridge, resetting it completely and leaving thousands of Pokefans hours of lifetime in the red.
